I would have been there myself but health issues withe my wife starting chemo yesterday and I tested positive for covid on top of that.
It's a great race where the racers are celebrated with various prizes as well as excellent payouts! Stay the course, timing wise Covid and then fuel price hikes really altered a lot of peoples schedules |

Fact is , there are just too many NHRA races in the Summer months on the East Coast. Going out on a limb here ,but I'd say that about 90% of S/SS racers do it for Wallys and for the ego. Most can afford to do it, so big pay independent races are a low priority.They don't do it for the money. As John Prine would say, " That's the way that the world goes 'round "...
