I have seen people use the one you are suggesting in the picture above. Maybe the OP could use it for entry and incorporate something like below for exit.

Ordered this also, but not for the getting in and out of coach, this will be the Sofa tool......Big Wheelie Belle can get on and off the Sofa with a decent running start, Double 0 Bruno, only when really excited, otherwise he's climbing into the drivers seat.

The coach is the only place they are allowed the luxury of the sofa, at home, that's a hard no go!

Glad to be of help. I don't have pets any more. Had three cats and two dogs at one time. Critters are cool.
