Doesn't the stock racer in Arkansas with the 73 have to run the motorcraft carb and that car runs well under in G and H.

That Is Verne Buchanan. The only intake & carb in the guide are:

D3ZE-AA, & 11 – 1563x1960/1250xAV

I'm at work but I do believe that's The carb and intake i have. It is a spreadbore for sure.
