I certainly agree with the 500 car rule for Stock & Super Stock. Would fix a lot of problems.

When did the NHRA change the rule from 500 units to 50 units in Stock? And why, anyone have the answer to that? I often wonder how many people read the rule book and why nobody says anything about these rule changes until it impacts their own program.
Most people on this forum seem to be under the impression the NHRA made special considerations for the Drag Pak and the Cobra Jet back in 2009. Are the factories pushing the rules in Stock or just following the rules in Stock as they were written?

Some of the rutkus over limited car runs kinda dried up when the COPO's arrived...gee, wonder why (lol). While I believe the 500 car rule is good I can also understand how the manufacturers can dictate the rules in order to get them involved. After all, their participation does help keep class racing growing and the cars are definitely cool. Not Duzac, Rayburn, Paquet, etc. type cool but very nice anyway. Now, about those FSS indexes...they are BS.

Wasn't that done in the mid nineties? I remember it being in the "Pontiac Days". I think it was done to get the Firehawk, 1LE, etc. into the guide.

It seems like most everyone welcomed all of the recent changes with open arms. the latest being any spring that fits, aftermarket rockers, etc.

I can't see where the factories broke any rules. Can you?

If they just fixed the bogus hp factors nobody would care.

Has, however, allowed guys that were never before fast, yet can write a check, to suddenly be one of the fast guys.

So, if a guy were to buy YOUR car instead of build one himself, he is less of a racer?

Would not get the same respect as a guy that built one himself.
Mine is nowhere as fast as those new cars anyway.

That ain't gonna happen as long as they are pumping money into NHRA.
Race sponsorships evidently get you a lot of favors.
