Oxnard California, Help!

My Agency has a job for me in Oxnard California. I'm hesitent to go because the cost of living. I could be on contract there for months or years. Anybody reading this have insight on the surrounding area and living conditions and costs? Comments and advice is what I'm looking for. Thanks, Jason

Also, if there are any cnc machinist's,manual machinists, and or programmers out there reading this please repond. I work for two great Agencies that have work all over the country, but unfortunately not Detroit! please PM me..Jason

Thanks jason, but what I was looking for was racers who live very close to the area and are willingto give me local points of interest. low price rentals and hotels..etc. only people I know there live in Laguna..and LA.. that pretty far considering califonia grid lock

Yeah low price. I mean dam, did you check out the link from the other jason? The median house income is no more than Detroit. Besides the water is always cold there. Whats so big about california anyway? Lake michigan you can atleast swim in the summer. Last time I was in LA and Burbank for 3 months I felt like I had to order in Spanish. Hey doent get me wrong the weather is nice but why is it so expensive there?
