There's that intensity, completely understandable. I found Glidden to be kind of like that at the races too. Must have something to do with being an engine builder/driver/team owner .......

Is anyone here besides me having a problem with the pieces of Eckman's situation fitting together?? I am assuming here that Jerry's story is true and correct.
Maybe I missed something but according to the cp article, Jerry shows up at the race track and is present in the pits of a race team he doesn't own, tinkering with a car he doesn't own. The vehicle has not been teched in and Jerry has not signed a tech card or declared to NHRA that he intends to compete in Pro Stock, a race he has entered as a driver, with that car. It is not "illegal" to possess a nitrous bottle at an NHRA track. That car, with a complete working nitrous system, could have been raced at a match race promo the night before. It had not yet been presented to NHRA as a legal Pro Stocker with a licensed driver. There are plenty of plausible, "legal" explanations for what happened. If all this is true, I think I would have given a lot of thought as to how and where I was going to spend the money he gave to NHRA. That being said, I'm glad to see him in the driver's seat again.
