Come on guys - this is what sells newspapers - could not be scripted better

man vs woman - good vs bad

It has nothing to do with sportsmanship or professionalism

It is about the making of a story to cover - it is good business for NHRA and sponsors

Controversy sells - there is no bad ink there is only ink (Howard Cosell)

Ron you are correct. Drama sells and causes attention. ESPN try's to stir stuff up all the time between teams and drivers. Pro-Stock doesn't get much love for air time. It's sad but the reason why they have been able to get as much air time here lately is because of the story line of man vrs woman, under dog vrs class domination. Americans LOVE underdog stories! Lots of movies are centered around them(like "Rudy").

Drama gains attention. I dislike drama but I understand others feed off of it. Look at prostock motorcycle the fued between the Harley's and everyone else. Gets their faces/sponsors on the camera. I hope this brings more attention to the class to get people interested in it.

I agree with Mr. Ron D. I like the personalities both drivers bring to the sport and many of the others. I love them both. Heck, I love everybody...including Kyle Ratcliff and his sheep. Well, maybe not as much as HE loves his sheep but I hear he is working that out in therapy. Pass the popcorn please.

Speaking of Daddy writing the checks...how come no one has mentioned Jeggie? Brandon Berstein? Tony Schumacher?
Sure, Jeg is a great all around racer, but where would he be without the company his father started? Do you think he's wrenching on the motor or grabbing that hot clutch disc? I doubt it.
You all do know that Troy Humphrey (sp?) is Greg's father-in-law, right? You don't think that maybe he was helping fund Greg in the begining?
Give Erica some props. She has been working hard to be successful. Congratulate her for the success and move on.

Copperhead: the big difference in all the names you mentioned is that they are all winners, even Brandon to a point. Tony has won championships and so has Jeggie, along with showing he can not only drive anything but can win in it. So what has Erica done; oh thats' right she won one race in 122 tries please.

It doesn't matter who is writing the check just as long as you can get somebody to write a big one. It takes a tremendous amount of money to run these things and the teams will do whatever it takes to get it. If summit racing didn't want to sponsor Greg's team because of his arrogance or attitude he probably would not be driving that car. Erica just happens to bring a sponsor with her, can she drive? I don't know I pretty much believe a monkey could drive one. The deal is who can bring the money to the table gets the ride.

Sid Waterman, said that about Top Fuel, but Pro Stock is a different animal not so easy to drive and even harder to win.

Bastid. I better not see this sticker on my car or I will know who did it. Well...maybe not exactly, but I can narrow it down!
