Default Stocker wheelie bar-single bolt-on style for 12 bolt

Saw a single wheelie bar last weekend at the northwest Nationals on Doug Lambeck's '69 Camaro that used the 12 bolt cover bolts to mount. The bottom bar was a chromed leaf spring style bracketed to the lowest 2 or 3 bolts of the rear end cover. the upper bar was a forked tubular style with a spring at the rear just where it hooked to the castor bracket, then Y'd up and forward to two brackets again bolted to the upper corner bolts of the cover. Like a dummy, forgot to use the phone in my pocket and get a few photos!
Does anyone know who makes that bar, or sells a kit that mounts that way? It looks clean and simple, very easy to install with no welding required.
Any comments on how good they are? negative or positive appreciated.
If Doug made them up himself, could anyone give me his contact number? Thanks for any help or info!

Grant, I'm not positive, but it may be Troy Henderson you need to contact on the wheelie bars.

Thumbs up Re: Stocker wheelie bar-single bolt-on style for 12 bolt

Ken Keir by far has the best single wheelie bar out in the market today. Put them on my car this year and my car has yet to spin the tires. That hasn't been the story over the last 2-3 years. They're a little spendy but they're worth every penny. Just give him a call and you'll be sold.

Joe, thanks for the info! I took a look at the Henderson setup at http://hendersonfamilyracing.weebly....eelie-bar.html

But, my question is are they allowed in stock? A local racer told me that, as of June, the wheelie bars could not also attach to the frame. Now, there have been cars running bars that way that apparently work well. I just didn't want to build/buy something that was not going to pass tech. Maybe someone can tell me the latest facts on that?

Thanks on the Keir bars, found them at http://kenkeirracecars.com/

The setup I saw on Doug Lambeck's Camaro was similar, but without the "mid-plate". The brackets bolted on behind the cover with longer bolts. This really looks great, but any idea how much $$$?

I like the idea. I sent both links to my chassis guy.

I used to run the AJE wheelie bar in Stock (the "erector set"). They worked great and it wasn't an issue with NHRA at the time. That's too bad because they really worked well.

Does Ken Keir make them for later models without leaf springs? All I saw on his site were on a leaf spring car. Don't think my panhard bar would clear that setup. I pretty much have "stocker" suspension under mine.

Thanks, Ed

Talked to Mr Keir just a few minutes ago.
He is a very nice man and took time to talk
to me about the single wheel setup.
He said he builds them pretty much on an as
ordered basis and in addition to the 12 bolts,
he just got in the mounting plates for the 8.8 ford
as well.
They are cm tube and come with an aluminum
wheel not the orange wheel picured.

Ed, I talked to him about my oddball car and he
said it would work on it.It doesnt have leafs or a
panhard bar.Give him a call,I dont think he would mind.
C.
