Race 1 is in the books and it was our best start ever.
60 cars strong and when the dust settled Gary Parker was the winner. Gary beat a redlighting Greg Gay in the final. Banks Chevrolet sponsored our series to the tune of an extra $400 to the winner and 200 for the runner up for ASRA members.Gary pocketed a cool 1400 total for the win. 60 cars in the eliminator and 47 members are both first race records for ASRA.We expect even bigger fields and more members as the season gets going. A very pleased Gary Parker was quoted as saying (in the winners circle) that he wanted to "get back to the Motorhome and have a cold drink" Enjoy Gary, you earned it

Nice job Gary, doesn't hurt as much when you lose to the eventual winner. Great job by Greg also, I think thats 2 finals in a row for him.
On a more serious note lets keep Donnie Moulton in our prayers, sounds like he's facing a pretty serious situation. Hang in there buddy, we had one cancer survivor in the semi's this past weekend. For more on Donnie see the post on the main SS forum. Thanks again to all who came out and made our first event of 2010 such a great success. George |
