So with this combination, 15" rim and 17" tire, 3100 lb. car, do you recommend 10-12 pounds of air pressure, or will this tend to round the tire up and put less rubber on the ground ??

The higher tire pressure is needed to prevent the tire from "rolling under" too low of pressure on that weight car and you run over the tire, you need to give the sidewall some help. Joe

What class does this car run? That is a high pressure. I know a lot of S/G guys that run these as low as 5 1/4 psi. S/STyou probably need more. If they are hooking and running consistant 60' times I would leave them alone and not worry about the tread pattern.

rear shocks are Santhuff Double adj. coil-over steel shocks. Normally set at 9 sweeps rebound, 5 clicks compression from full tight. This is a 4-link car.
