Default Divisional Payouts

When searching for posted divisional payout on the Google.. a page comes up for Div 1 containing this info..

Super Street, Super Gas, Super Comp, Stock, Super Stock:

33+ Cars – R-3-100 – R-4-150 – R-5-200 – R-6-250 – R-7-300 - R/U-600 – Win – 1500
17-32 Cars – R-3-100 – R-4-150 – Runner-up – 400 – Win – 1200
9-16 Cars – R-3-100 Runner-up – 300 – Win – 600
5-8 – Runner-up – 150 – Win – 300
3-4 – Runner-up – 100 – Win -- 200
1-2 – Runner-up – 0 – Win -- 150

My question is "Is this consistent across all 7 Divisions? I'm specifically looking for Div 7 info...

That looks quite a bit higher than what I've experienced in Super Street in D5 and D3, always with 6 or 7 round fields.

You have to win the race twice to only loose a lot.

Brad
D-1 needs to expand this to a 64+ car field! And there should be NO argument from NHRA!

I don't disagree...

$170 *64 car = $10,880 purse

10880
1500
600
600 (2 @ 300)
800 (4 @ 200)
- 800 (8 @ 100)
----------------------------
$6,580 profit for NHRA

Sweet Deal if you ask me.. We all know they gotta make money but...
SC
SG
SS
Stock
SST
TD
TS
7 classes with an average profit of say $5000 = $35000 an event...

7 Divisions with 7 events each $245,000 profit for the Divisional Series before Lucas throws a dime into the pot.... as an entity that runs an association I'd love to operate with this model! haha Too bad mine is actually a non profit.. that doesn't make a profit or pay it's 2 employees...

If memory serves me correct, some years ago div.1 raised the entry fee to $170 and upped the payouts.

Sorry you have made a few mistakes figuring the Profit at divisional, but the divisional are bought by the track. NHRA is paid a flat fee by the tracks that hold a divisional. Any profit made is over and above what NHRA charges them. I know a few years ago the break even point was 400 cars entered. It has changed a little with the dropping of the alky classes. There is WAY more expense to a track owner than when you add up the entries and subtract the purse.

True story, but I think there's a sliding scale now, where the more the track makes, the more NHRA makes.
Of course one can't expect the profit to come from the (lack of) spectators.

I've been under the impression that the tracks pay a hefty hosting fee to NHRA to get on the schedule, but from there they are on their own to cover the purses and try to turn a profit.

I think I remember hearing something about NHRA taking an extra cut if the race draws a ton of cars.
