I see more and more racecars with no contingency decals. Most are running Stock, but some SS cars also. Just wondering why? It is free money if you win. Please don't tell me it is hard to collect. I would say 90 % of most companies pay within a few months. You have to run the NHRA Lucas oil decal, so why not a few more?

![]() ^^ this I'm one of them. I've never gotten past 3rd round in NHRA ![]() I didn't sticker up at an NMRA race last September. Didn't think I was going to win. Got lucky and did. Should have slapped them on at least for the duration of the event.... Last edited by ALMACK; 06-10-2019 at 04:00 PM. |

Or ..... Its not only what you do, but how you do it! Form over function.....
![]() A few extra sheckles when you won did not affect my bottom line. Was in the red regardless and style was more important to me. I always felt it was better for the class and didn't care what everyone else did. I paid ALL my own bills, ran a few decals for those that helped me and my race car was ALWAYS a labor of love. Need passion for the sport and loving your car helps. ![]() Others opinions may vary, Just answering the OP's question here! |

I love the clean and/or showroom fresh look, but I always paid attention to who was paying, held my nose and stickered the car accordingly. I just didn't want to leave a bunch of money on the table if I did go to the final.

With a lot of companies requiring a purchase within the past three years, contingency became irrelevant in a lot of cases. Its nice to get money when you do get that far though.

I would use a good quality magnetic tape if you don't need a lot of decals. This way if you win you get paid, and if you get tired of the look remove them. gsa612

For Example I see Randi Lyn Shipp's Firebird stocker has won a few events this year & only visible contingency decal is Mickey Thompson tires. Guess likes the clean look or does not need the $$$ or trouble to chase manufactures

with many racers complaining about the costs to compete at this level, it's just foolish not to sticker up if you have the car and the skills to win.
