Since gas prices are dropping pretty good, even if it seems everywhere but Pa. I was wondering if the prices stay down or drop lower next year how does that effect your racing schedule? Are people making their plans now? Anyone adding another car to race based on fuel prices? I am not a racer so was just interested.

Skills, I think if someone is going to go from running one car to two, a thousand or two in gas won't change that. However, for the bulk of us that run one car, lower gas prices could add up to a few more races. Making plans for next year on based on November gas & oil prices is tough given the political unrest in the world. Oil could be $38.00 a barrel in the spring or $138.00. My 2 cents. J.R.

I'm in Pa most every weekend and gas prices have dropped there too.
Cheaper gas means more travel/road trips whether yu are a racer or not. |

I don't think it is reasonable to suggest oil may be $138 come spring. You probably won't see oil above $100 per barrel for many, many years now that opec can't artificially adjust the price since they no longer control enough of the supply percentage to do so. Many top oil ceo's outline that they are preparing for another 25% drop off.

It sure won't hurt. Gasoline here in the Derby City is 1.78 and I am loving it.

You Boulderites and Las Vegans are getting ripped off John.
I drove to Las Vegas a couple weeks ago , the highest price the whole trip was in Las Vegas area, once you are out in the middle of nowhere on the way up to Wells it was much cheaper, like 40 cents cheaper in Ely and certainly transportation costs there are more. Paid a whole dollar cheaper than Vegas in Twin Falls Idaho. Even far north Washington was 40 cents cheaper than Vegas. |
