How heavy a flywheel do most of you stick racers in Stock Eliminator use nowadays? Technology has certainly come a long ways since I last ran a stick in '82,, with a 30# wheel, a Mcleod plate & disc and a slick shifted Super T-10 in a '66 Nova SS.
Just curious. Danny Durham |

Danny,
As light as possible, the flywheel looks like Swiss cheese. My entire clutch assembly is about 25# for my stocker. If I remember the flywheel is 13-15# Sean

Thanks for the info, guys. That seems awful light to my old way of thinking,,, I would think a bog situation could occur. I remember a '57 Bel-Air with an aluminum wheel, way back when,, a small block 4-speed car, would almost die when he tried to launch it. Of course, that's a heavier car also.
Jeff, I'm glad you're finally bringing the car back out. The last time I saw it was at Phoenix in '05, I believe,, and it was before your current paint scheme. Take care. Danny Durham |
