Super Gas and Super Street cars must be driven under their own power not towed to the staging lanes. Pushing them in the staging lanes is allowed just not past the ready line. I have raced super gas for 20 plus years and have witnessed some people being disqualified for towing to the lanes at Division events over the years. Not sure I have ever witnessed it at a National event. Rick Cates Canyon, TX |

Two years ago at the E-Town National Event, they had me park my SG rig near the spectator gate on the opposite side of the track from the return road and time ticket booth.. I asked if I could tow the car back to the otherside of the track after getting my time slip as I didn't want to overheat, or stop multiple times to cool the car down during the ride to the pit area.. I was told that I could tow it, but to then tow it all the way back to my driveway.. I took that as NO!!
SC and up can use tow vehicles the last time I checked the Rule Book.. |

And we have been on the right hand side the past few years having to work on Wednesday of E-Town and we have had to pull over, coast, try everything and anything to get the car back to the trailer under 200 degrees. This year by the time I got back they were calling me again. And don't get me started on the lack of time they give you if you come in on Thursday morning...I don't understand why they can't let us in at 7am. I feel that that is a reasonable time and plenty of time to sit in the tech line then sit in the ticket line and have your car to the line on time.

Gassers have always had to self-start without a tow vehicle. This was true in Comp and has always been true in Super Gas as well. A nod toward requiring a functional vehicle, not a purpose-built race car. A nostalgic rule now I guess.

What is the difference between a s/ g engine and a s/ c engine? S/c radiators are outside with plenty of air cooling them off while a s/ g engine is trapped in the heat under the hood . That rule is backwards
