Cool Beating a dead Hemi.

I've been told that if I mention the original builders name again I will be banned for life so he will go unnamed but you all know he is.
Since last summer I've been saving up the money to fix Hemi after it dropped a intake valve on the dyno. It turns out it had the wrong valve locks. I had the heads apart and should have caught that so shame on me.
The new heads arrived in January, A little over $5000 by the time they got here. Maybe I should have waited for CW/ Barton sell off, lol.
I was told it would have a Scat crank, It doesn't. I don't how to post pics but I think the crank my be 440 source china piece, Nobody I know can i.d the numbers on it. The new Scat crank arrived Tuesday.
One step closer. $1400
I was told it would have Manley rods, It does. Unfortunately they are .100 short, ie 440 rods. Weird. For now.
So I order another set the right length, They arrived today. $1600
The piston are arias, illegal from the get go and are .080 more above the deck but cc good. Weird. For now.
So I order new pistons today, They want to know the deck height of the block. I assumed it would be stock height, Why would it be milled? The brand new Mopar block is milled .100. I guess this is so the 440 rods would work and also explains why the 3 different intakes I have had on this engine don't fit.
I'm going to have $10,000 into to fixing a $15,000 engine before it goes back in the car, If I can even use the milled block.
I'm 8 years into this project and I can't help but hate this car thanks to engine builder. I've contemplating putting a small block in it and running as a GT car lately. The horror!

I'm confident that will change this year now that I have some honest help with it. It's a west coast build this time, Hopefully I'll let you all know how it goes pretty soon.

I'll have 1 Hemi head, A 440 crank and some Manley rods with a 1.003 pin for sale pretty soon if anyone is in need.

Yo Chad, This engine is reason I have to buy ebay helmets and since you are in Florida maybe you can go punch the jack *** that ripped me off. Thanks Buddy. I would offer to pay you but that might be illegal so instead of buying me a new Simpson you can do that instead. Video would be great.

Can you guy's tell I'm trying to be less negative? It's damn hard when I'm paying these credit card bill's for parts I thought I was buying last time but this is the new me,lol.

Cheers.

I forgot to mention the Nascar oil pan I paid $400 for. Ebay has them for $99. Thanks Dan, You really got me.......

Talking Re: Beating a dead Hemi.

I just read that whole thing and it's doesn't sound positive at all, Dammit!

The truth is as bitter as I am about the Hemi I am planning on full assault of stock in 2014, I just need to get a few small blocks put together for the Dusters and the Aspen and we will be back. Team Marvetz is coming back.

How's that for a positive outlook?

Anyone want to donate a 318 or 340? lol. Ah hell I'll even drive chevy.

It can't be that bad where you would be willing to drive a chev.

WHY? Seems like a legit story of a bad deal that continues to get worse. I have a friend that got taken on a block by a "reputable" seller who claimed there was nothing wrong with it. Block was cracked and came painted inside and out. Yes, including cyl walls. Only after the buyer went public did the seller admit the block was less than described and refunded some money. I hate being ripped off and other people have the right to know about shady deals.
