Default Corky Jordan's Fairlane

I saw Lee Jordans post the other day,a friend and I were talking awhile back and wondering about Corky and the fairlane,I sorry to hear he passed away,I never did get to meet him.
I remember Corky coming to Clay City and racing in 86,87,88 was last time I remember seeing it.
At that time they ran a Quick 16 bracket and Corky would be in it,I remember the late George Poynter ,the Clay City& Bluegrass announcer would say something like this,We got Corky Jordan in the worlds fastest stocker on which ever side in that beautiful fairlane w/427-4spd dialed in @ 10.8?
I seen the for sale ad that is'nt what I was hoping to see,I was hoping to see the fairlane back out and racing again,I would guess it is priced right
Again Lee sorry to here about your father I always enjoyed watching him run the fairlane.
I hate to break Billy Ray's achy breaky heart but I knew of Flatwoods,Ky because of Corky Jordan's 427 fairlane way before anybody knew who Billy Ray Cyrus was. LOL

Sorry to hear he has passed away. I raced Corky several times in class at Indy and Bowling Green. He was always friendly and respecting and a great competitor. That car had such an honorable history.

I appreciate both your comments. I remember running Dwight several times. Always a good race. Never really knew who would be on top when he met you for class.

As far as racing the car, I planned on racing it. I was going to bracket race it till I got used too it. Then after I got competative I wanted to get back to what was the best time of my life. Looks like Stock racing gets more and more expensive all the time. Of course it always has.......

If it dont sell, who knows. This car has been in my life for 35 years. Thats hard to think dad had it for so long. I was helping him restore it back to the way it was back in 1978. The only thing left was the motor. we were going to try it again but it was his time to move on.

I appreciate everyone here on this site. I knew many of you casually and have learned so many things over the years. There are no other people in the world like Drag Racers. I am proud to have been a part of it..
