Default No playback tach.....

How might you recommend figuring out shift times without a playback tach? I'm looking to keep the learning curve time to a minimum, as my track is 3 hours away!! In my head I'm visioning me going down the track with a stopwatch in my hand!!! Turbo 400 in the car.

On a different topic how do you turn off the throttle stop if you want to bracket race all out? Will I need to change timer settings to do this?

Thanks in advance, Sorry if some of the answers are obvious, I do search before I post.

Well you could put a video camera on the tach and make a couple of passes and watch it with a stop watch. Don't be surprised if the one-two shift happens quicker then the two-three shift.

To run all out, I set all four timers (on-off, on-off) to 13.00 or any convienent time that exceeds your ET.

Hope this helps

Thank you Bill. I find it hard to find Throttle stop help stuff through Google, I don't want to become an annoyance, but I have a lot of learning to do and I hate to have to use an actual race to do so. I would be first round fodder for sure!!!!

Your welcome.
What kind if stop are you running?

If it's an inline cylinder type make sure that the pedal has a solid stop, if it doesn't it can drive you crazy!

If you looking far an inexpensive video camera try tigerdirect.com

if you had a mega 450 box, you could record your run to find the shift point then use that time. also w/ the 450 you have two screens, one for bracket, one for pro, that way you do not have to wipe your t-stop time out going from one to the other...

Bill- #1 stop air. But I do have a pedal stop already. I'm coming from 10.90 with no electronics.

Keith- I have a Dedenbear lightning, It's my understanding that it has a button to switch from pro tree to sportsman tree and remembers all settings for each. I have yet to run the car with the electronics. I have this fear of it shifting too late, but I guess that's why we have rev limiters!!!!!!
