Default neck collar

Do you still have to use a neck collar if you use a head and neck restraint ex. hutchens device??

If you use a HANS device, you will still need the neck collar, OR a head sock, OR a skirted helmet. It is in the 2012 rules amendments.

WRONG WRONG!!!!!--- go back and read the rules amendments for 2012 EITHER collar or HANS -- however some classes /some types of vehicles(open/closed) some ET's Some MPH a HANS is required in lieu of a donut-----read it closely!!!!!

If I remember correctly, the mfg'rs of the Hans and Safety Solutions units ( I have the pro-rage) tell you to NOT wear a neck collar with a restraint, it will interfere with proper fit and operation...I know with the rage, I dont see how I could wear the collar and not have it mess with the teathers and release strings...

Also if you wear a restraint, you must have a head sock or helmet skirt...

Can anyone tell me if S/G and/or S/C will be required to have a neck restraint this year?
Page of rule book or where to find on NHRA site would also be appreciated!
Thanks, Rich

No. TS/TD required. Optional in SC/SG.

All this stuff can be found on http://nhraracer.com.
