We did in '08 in St. Louis and really had a great time! None of us made the final show, but Alex was selected for the Wheelstand Contest and it was between him and someone who almost wrecked for the win - they voted for the moron who almost crashed. Oh well. It was a ton of fun!

I have a lot of friends who have been in them. You can not go to it with the attitude that it is a race. It is a sit around alot and then rush up to make your run, then sit. It's a lot more of a party at a race track unless you happen to get picked.
A buddy of mine won Indy last year. (Jerry Hayes-Pro Electric Duster) They paid what they promised, and he has been on TV a ton of times now. |

From what i am being told, they only pick 16 or 32 of the closest runs that are together, and the rest of the 4-5 hundered get to go home?

Yep. They had a pinks thing here at Tulsa, many didn't come back the second year. Not many thought much of it here.

Exactly. I keep hearing how the winner is not predetermined after that choice is made, provided the guy doesn't make a major screw up. But no one can explain how you can have a spread of 2-3 tenths between 16 cars and not know which guy should win it. They can't explain how, at the end of the show, if their chosen one does not win, the crew is walking around wondering how their guy lost, right there on TV, either. I'll grant you, it makes decent TV, if that sort of thing amuses you. But it doesn't make good racing, if that's what you're looking for.
