I would have liked to come out of retirement for these races, but it's very hard to get excited about running 1/8 mile at a 1/4 mile track with enough stopping room.

Well enough for some, but a friend of mine crashed his car there last year. Another 3 friends had to put brakes on their car after burning them up stopping. That track is safe for stockers, yes, but 150 mph cars at 3000lbs I dont know about. I'm not going so it really doesnt matter.

I was there last year as well. There was some wicked wind on Sunday morning that was rough for the top sportsman especially. I personally think all the excavation they are doing there on both sides of the track is adding to this problem.
my car isn't fast at all, and I know I have to get on the brakes harder there than at most places.

Cars stoped there at over 200 mph when the track was shorter,...why do we have problems now?.....hate folding chuts...economys bad, can't aford new brakes.Let the T/D s T/S s run 1/8,....give us back the 1/4.

If stock was running 1/4, I'd be there. Had no issues in the past stopping.

Yep. In 1972, Tommy Ivo ran ths sports first 5 second Top Fuel run at Keystone Raceway Park (now Pittsburgh Raceway Park) to become the first member of the Cragar 5 Second Club. Back then, T/F cars were running 235-240. Since then, braking systems have improved, the track's shutdown has been lengthened, and we're worried we don't have enough room to stop for cars running 30-50 mph slower? I have always been a big IHRA fan, and I agree with Wes, racing is still racing, and I have no problem running 1/8 mile races, if the issue is shutdown area (Dragway 42 was a 1/4 mile track that ran 1/8 mile IHRA Div races, and for good reason). I would just prefer to run 1/4 mile when it wouldn't be an issue. I think one of the IHRA Div 4 races this year ran T/D and T/S on the 1/8 and everyone else on the 1/4, why not here?
