Dean Cook's Christmas Party
Dean held his annual Christmas Bash despite the snowy winter weather that has plagued the northeast for the past few days. The crowd was a little thinner than usual with the difficult travel conditions, but a steady steam of the local racers kept flowing through the door. As always Dean had a huge spread of Rhode Island's finest foods and all the beer you could ever drink. The laughs were many along with the bench racing and ball busting that drag racers are know for.
Al Smyth had his Porta Tree set up on hand and of coarse all the racers had to give it a shot. Al put together an eliminator with the best out of three winner moving on to the next round. I think 17 racers gave it a shot and Dave Casey gave D.J. Pires a run for his money but D.J. edged him out for the win. All the time while raising a few hundred bucks to be sent to the Rethmiller (spelling) girls. Dean's only request for a canned food donation was generously supported with what looked like an entire table full of food for one of the local food panrtys.
Thanks again Dean for taking the time to do this, it's great to see all our friends in the racing community at this time of year along with supporting a few important causes.
Happy Holidays!!!
