Default Two things that really pisses me off about todays stock elimintor

1 The AHFS. This system has taken a class that for years was performance based and turned it into a touchy feely eliminator. Now children lets make it fair for everyone. I know Johnny hasn't a clue how to make his car go fast and he is not really interested in learning . And Bob won't work on his combo and try anything new. Yes and Tom can't spend the money. You know we wouldn't want to hurt their feelings. So sorry we are just going to have to punish you for working on your combo and spending money to go faster. What a blinking joke. Case in point. Fred Hensons run last year at Houston. More than 1.4 under. I tip my hat to Fred what a great run!! I wish I was there to shake his hand. The air was great but Fred also works hard and spends the money. When your in air like that why shouldn't you be able to flex your muscle. But the AHFS added the HP to the hemi's and screwed that combo for most of the others that run it. My combo the 396/375 hp. I am sure we will be getting hit at mid season with hp. There are to many of us that run it going fast. It's a great combo but not the best one right now for the class. I also tip my hat to John Shaul. Indy class win in A/SA last year and now the Vegas thromp. John you have one bad *** car. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy and one we all know works his *** off. John has the fastest A car in the country! Bill Hawks 67 Shelby. Yes Bill I hate to admitt it but you have the fastest B car in the country. ( I know I could go faster in that combo but I am stuck with this turd Camero). But because there are more of us running the 396 combo we will be the ones getting the hp. We are already two steps behind these guys but we will get punished. Not that I want to see them get hp (well maybe the Shelby could use about 20 LOL) but now we will be that much further behind. I am sure we can all site other problems that we have AHFS. Now that we have reps why don't they scrap the current AHFS and come up with a new system. Or at least look at the other combo's running the same class before they decide if HP is needed. Barry

Good post Barry.
Fred?s run was unbelievable. When he made that run his weight was 3700 lbs. (440 hp). Can you imagine what he would have run at 3600 lbs. (430 hp). But one run should not make a combination obsolete, and I?m not just being selfish. I don?t think any combination (Hemi, Chevy?s, Wedges and yes, even the Ford?s) should be affected by just one very fast run under ballistic weather conditions. We need human intervention, some of us do not do this for the money, we do it for fun. Barry it would be a shame for your combo to be hit, I know the feeling. But hey at least you guys got the better manifold.

Fred's run and the horsepower given to Bruce Noland's combo are just a couple of the items that need to be reversed. Maybe the Sportsman Committee can address these issues.
