How about Project Six Pack from Super Stock magazine? It was an original factory 6 pack car that was converted to race car status, if memory serves me well. I think it is still around and was way fast at the time. They even showed to do a lace paint job as part of the project - How cool is that??

As an original Z/28 owner myself, I vote for Ben Wenzel.

The car was mentioned by Nitro Joe in post # 10,,, It also gets my vote. NHRA's all time winningest single race car is right.

In my mind I think Myron Ramey and his nephew have two of the best old chevys that have the history and backround that goes back all the way to junior stock yet they still survive today They were the Hardys and Bergs cars from LA and now at home in Indiana. They were race cars before many of these cars were even built of thought about.

Any guesses what Dan's car would bring in at auction?

Dave, I realize now why I didn't notice it. I actually scanned all the posts before I made mine, but I was looking for Truppi-Kling - not Briggs Chevrolet.

I'd like to mention Dan Dvorak's '63 Dodge 440, original 426 Max Wedge car with an aluminum front end. This car has set many national records in Stock eliminator over the years. It was bought last year by Tom Auger at the Mecum Auction in Florida. Tom brought the car to Maine where we've been working on it in preparation to compete in NHRA Stock Eliminator Division 1 for the 2014 season. I just finished installing a complete new floor pan yesterday, trans. and rear is ready, currently working on engine. We hope to be ready by season's start.
