The real question is how does an event get added? Perhaps a sportsman nationals without alcohol cars? Distance is certainly a factor. What are the good options?

I do not know how NHRA & D5 pick a track or how much said track has to pay to hold an event or if Tri-State would want another event.
But if I were running a business, I would put the event where I would get the biggest car count / return on investment. Be fun to have a back-to-back weekend there, or better yet, move Topeka and go Earlville-Indy-Earlville...

It would be nice to have a race later in the fall. Being done at the first part of September when you do not start until Late May, if you race just Div 5 does not give you a shot at the REAL GOOD air. Maybe then we could some damage instead of our East /West coast brothers.

I'm not sure how it works now, but when I was involved with race tracks the track stuck it's neck out and bought the package from the racing association.
Pretty sure it is similar today with maybe a little tougher contract. A year or two before the split of Alky from divisionals to regionals I was told by a person with NHRA the complete Divisional package took 400 cars for a track to crack the nut! No wonder they took the alky guys out. That is a hard sell for the smaller tracks. I would say it is the Div. Directors job to sell the product to tracks that have the ability to support the event. I would suggest that you give your Div. Director a call and express yourself.

The national open at Kearney had a lot of racers commenting how great the way they were treated, with home made food, and everyone helping each racer.
