Default Hats off to Gm and the COPO

Without much time to test and tune our COPO and ATI'S went 8.71 and 8.69 respectively and if it was not for my failed tranny brake in the class final a class win was well within reach . Gm went all out to help us tuners engineers you name it they are nothing but top shelf and the car is just awesome. I can't express how disappointed I am at my equipment failure I should have brought home that class win. Can't express the heart sink I had when I hit the gas and the brake failed. Worse than losing a big case which by the way does not happen very often. But the car and Gm get a 10 that's for sure you can bet we are gong to solve the tranny brake issue

A big CONGRATULATIONS to you Paul for the great showing with this all new car. Surely a bit more time to tune & test will bring even better results. It is very good to hear your extremely positive comments about the GM crew who have shown so much inspiring enthusiasm for this whole project from its inception. As I said before, "this is going to get very interesting".

Fans of the COPO's and the other new super cars were disappointed, too, when you rolled the beams. Those of us not able to make it are able to listen to the coverage live on nhra.com.

Good luck to you in regular eliminations.

Quick question. Did you switch over to a 3-speed?

What a wonderful Shot in the Arm for SS and Stk racing. Finally an opportunity to get a younger group involved in being fans of Stk and SS as the cars are from their generation.
The factoring issues appear to be better able to handle them.

Can not begin to tell you how many young people came by to see the car and take pictures. The answer is no on the three speed but that is next maybe pro trans maybe coan will make that call this week the ATI car has a 3 speed and they were very helpful to us what a class operation . I think NHRA and I H R A need to create a Heads up class for the super stock cars in a sense we have that with class at Indy but I think it is time for a real class. The 60's muscle cars did more for drag racing and interesting young people. Sadly I won't be around for eliminations I have to fly to LA in the morning a close friend' s daughter is getting married so someone is getting a bye

Thanks for the reply on the trans, and safe travels. If the rain comes in as predicted (HOPE NOT), you might have time to sneak back to the track!

Paul, great looking/running car...what was your mph?

Ill agree about the younger folk gravitating towards these newer cars...my brother (29yo) saw me keeping an eye on the happenings at Indy and took a keen interest in the new copo cars, and even asked about the drivetrain.

Btw, howdy George!
