Hey guys I am thinking of purchasing a tube chassie Mustang II to build/race in sst. Is there any reasons you guys can think of that would make that style car not leagel for the class. (Such as wheel base- the engine was moved to the rear but I think I can move it back) It's an older tube car but will recert to 8.50 with no problem. Any help would be great. Thanks Joe

In S/ST you're allowed to add up to 500 pounds but there are several legal requirements to be met (NHRA Rulebook General Regs 4.2) so you're going to have questions that downloading a rulebook will help you with. In general you want to add weight fairly close to the centerline of the car (corner weighting to achieve correct balance recommended) and also toward the rear as a traction aid. 10.90 in IHRA only requires 2600 weight min. so might be good place for you to start...

Thanks for the responses I was mostly worried about wheelbase requirments and things like that. will download the rules today. I love the bracket/sst/sg style racing to the grief of my friends. (heads up racers)
