Being from Colorado and have had spent a small fortune over the years in Kearney and racing there a lot I can tell you this: The town of Kearney will probably be the nicest 30,000 people town you are likely to ever see. The .19 correction factor more often than not is very well deserved, you have a 2130 altitude, with a constant blowing of the wind, some times this will help, some times this will hurt, you will see both this weekend. It likes to rain there a lot, last year 300 miles into the trip, it was called due to rain. The baro can range between 27.40 and a very rare 28.20, the wind usually goes hand in hand with a low baro. I have gone to this race every year for as long as I can remember, one time I can remember very good conditions. My decision to go Sunday will be made Saturday when I have a look at the baro and the wind direction. Good luck

I believe the Grade Point is for the Sunday race since it is the actual National Open race. Al or Dan, correct me if I am wrong.

Sorry my earlier post confused a few people. There is 2 S/SS races this weekend.

Sat Race is a MCR race sponsored by Tonniges Chevrolet

Sun Race is a NHRA Nat Open race sponsored by Tonniges Chevrolet with MCR sponsoring the payout.

Again 2 races 1 tow - Fantastic payout - grade point ( sunday race only) - low entrée of $100 per day

What about setting a record? Normally the Sunday race you get 1 hit and then eliminations if I remember correctly?

The conditions at any track are the same for everyone. The best thing a racer can do is to have their car on a track with other similar classed cars and see how they compare.

There will be several G/SA cars there, so your Buick will feel right at home. Monty Jones' stuff is always fast so you'll have a good car to compare to.

Hope to see you there! -Al
