>> Beard...don't know when you were at Norwalk last, but overall track improvements putting Norwalk in 'premier quality' national event category

I was there for the World Nationals last August. Norwalk has been premier quality for many years. (with the exception of a media center) They'll have to come up with a new level of quality description for what they've done recently! I heard that the new pit paving is phenomenal.

Kinda funny.... where were all the Super Stockers at the nationals there last year, and where are all the T/D, T/S, Hot Rod (S/ST) cars now that *were* at the nationals last year?

They went from "no press facility" to having the best one on the tour (IMHO) and the rest of the improvements are also top-calibre. In usual Bader fashion, they have settled for nothing but the best and the place looks even better than before (and that's saying a lot). A couple things are still finished (like the elevator to race control) but will be done before the national event and the place definitely does not look like your typical construction zone. And the ice cream is still a pound for a buck.

Spectator tickets for the national event are going fast and the grandstands will likely be all-reserved before long.

Crowd yesterday for the divisional race was 8,000-10,000, the stands about a third full for the late session. And that was with cloudy, cool weather and occasional sprinkles. High yesterday was 64 - it's already warmer than that today.

Your teammate just lost in the first round of Super Street - by 0.0005 seconds! Needs another layer of chrome on the bumper...

Thanks for the report. Talk about customer service! ;-)

Barnhouse gets a bye in the second round of stock - Goodman's heads failed the CC check. According to Nitro Joe, he'd have been okay with the correct spark plugs, his were too long. So the -1.4 qualifying run won't result in a horsepower adjustment.

How's that for customer service??? [:-smilearound-:]

Nice. Oh, and I talked to Zapp... he was out 4 mph on the guy to give it up .0005. Darn near perfect! ;-)

After getting whacked by a .001 and dead-on w/ a 4 yesterday, I figured I'd better tighten things up today. I was .016 vs a red first round. Second round, I'm .007 to his .016, both .02 over, me backing into him .010. He buys back, and we run again 3rd round. We're both .001, both .01 over, him patting on me this time, down to .002. Uh... yikes!

'nother day in paradise. :-)
