Default Re: NHRA, when are you going to raise your purses?

I have a solution for the purse. Ready? Everybody contribute extra money to a side purse. This said purse should be held in a account and or very responsible holder and everyone must contribute. Would $50 extra dollars be worth it to split between the semi's winner and runner up? So here is an example...$50 buck times 80 racers is $4000 dollars. Winner gets extra $2000..Runner up gets $1000 dollars and semi finalists each get another $500 dollars. I think this is the only answer because NHRA will never give up being greedy. Don't you agree? Now...Who is going to play?

Ok, now Ikm going to look at the division 7 schedule for the next closet race..Anybody want to let me drive their car to the 7th round? Hopefully a stocker! Well only a stocker..

Thumbs up Re: NHRA, when are you going to raise your purses?

It's called a Calcuta, last man standing gets the money.

That is why there are local S/SS associations are getting started, to get the correct entry amout to the purse. Your suggestion is a good one except that if I gave $50 to the gamblers purse, I'm still giving NHRA their out of line entry fee. Here in D2, it would be $210 then to race. An entry fee of that amount should pay somewhere in the $5k to $10k range.

This seperate purse idea has been done before at some races in Div.1 It becomes a difficult job for the ones keeping track of who paid and who didn't as well as collecting the money and doing the payouts. Sooner or later issues develop and the person(s) doing it say they have had enough and bail out and it is easy to see why they would.....They get nothing for their efforts and extra work.

Car counts are definately down.....and payouts are pretty poor and always have been vs entry fees. The contingencies are lower than ever and that hurts the potential payouts. But it's is basically the only game in town and is still the best racing program out there, IMHO.....and the money is not what most people are in it for. .......If you are thinking that way your definately in the wrong sport......Have fun.....take whatever money you are fortunate enough to win and enjoy yourself doing it.......thats what I do and highly recommend.....Big money bracket racing is an alternative but most NHRA type cars are not going to run those races.......and even if you did you'd spend a lot trying to win....

Just keep for the people by the people in mind...

It took a lot of work to do all these video's for free but I love Stock eliminator.

NO EXCUSES...Stock and Superstock racers must come together to get it done.

Like running a football square sheet. People don't realize what a pain in the a** it is until they try it.

On issues that concern confronting the "governing body"..... as many here have said before, unfortunately, almost no one (in appreciable numbers) will stand together and act, to maybe actually make something positive happen for the S and SS racers. Like the old saying: "When all is said and done, more was SAID than DONE"......Something really big may have to happen before that changes, or maybe it just never will, but I hope the racers get a better deal from the body before most everyone has to quit due to how expensive campaigning one of these cars has become...just my take on it.....
