....INDY .....how about... "THE" one race each year that we revert back to Class Winners ONLY to run Stock / SS Eliminator? That would have an interresting affect on AHFS! JB

Alright Bailey, the guys and gals are just now getting calmed down, and now you come along with that proposal. Shades of the 60's. How about we use 20' spot per class and not use the tree to handicap? And a flagman?

Now we need someone to sit in a pickup at the finish line with a large flag to determine the winner. Talk about a thankless job. In l960 I did that, and the Buick dealer had a car as did Leonard Hughes (Candies and Hughes). They ran and I called a tie. The Buick guy is 6'8" and an easy 450 and a reputation to boot. Sorta like Larry Hill, but bigger and meaner. I left and quit on the spot.

One of the reasons they went to allowing fastest qualifiers was stock had only 50 classes, and all classes were not represented. They had a 64 car field.

Yes But they are fond memories for those than were there.
And I want to lobby for lowering the indexes another 7 tenths all across the board. This will stop most of the sandbagging 1000' stuff and make racing, racing again.

It should be every class winner, then the fastest qualifiers, even if there's is only one car in the class. Don't punish the driver who participates because of those who don't.
