Bill:
You are spot on in your reference to talent!
I have seen and raced against some very talented racers over the years. Clearly, Peter is at or at least near, the top of the talent list. What amazes me most is his versatility in driving grossly different cars to the winner's circle. Slow stockers, fast stockers, Dragsters, fast comp cars, etc... He also has a fairly solid gene pool/genesis: the patriach (Sammy) and brother Sal are no slouches!

I am glad to see Peter and Phil Monteith aligned w/ a Professional caliber Team in Arnie Martel's Team. Arnie and his crew have the top notch equipment and resources to compete at the highest level. i believe that you will continue to see this Team only improve upon their 2008 performance.

Question Re: $42,000 win for Biondo

I was just wondering......If Peter can win that kind of $$$$$ at a big time bracket race then WHY dosent NHRA or IHRA pay more for a win at a national event in S/S and stock??? How many spectators watched the race Peter won and how many cars were entered and at what kind of entry fee? Same deal as with the Million Dollar race each year. Look at the kind of money the stock and S/S racers pay to enter an NHRA or IHRA National event event for $1000 to $1500 win money. The rest is paid by sponsors (IF your lucky enough to collect from them). A good Stock and S/S show just HAS to be more interesting to spectators than a field full of big block chevy powered delay box started dragsters. Just food for thought and congrats to Peter for the win. He couldnt win that much money if he won Indy twice in one weekend.

Terry;
Here's an example of entry fees.2009 Super Nats.All sportsman entries Comp. to S/ST 400 entries.
Entry fee $ @ $210=84,000 Insurance fee @ $40=$16,000.Grand total$100,000.I guess NHRA has no transparency when it doles out the prize $.They could give organized crime some tips on cash flow.

Ed

Peter is Peter and will continue to reap the rewards of his talent.

There were 42 cars entered for the race that Peter won, and the entry fee was $1,000 per car. It was winner take all, thus the $42,000 payday.
