Could someone be so kind as to describe where I need to put this access plate? Better yet be even nicer to see a picture of a pan with one. I've got my own ideas on how one should be built but would like to see one to confirm if my thinking is correct.

Last time we showed up at an NHRA race with an oil pan with a bead of weld on it we were told to NEVER bring it back. Never heard of a removable plate. If they want to see a rod, they want to hold a rod and piston in their hand, not lay on a creeper under the car and look through a hole in the pan.
