I would venture to guess that T/S, T/D and perhaps some of the higher MPH 8.90 cars play more into IHRA;s decision making that anything else.

Joe your so upset your stuttering,
The shame is 3 years ago we had 5 national events and easily that many divisionals within a reasonable drive. Now with 2 nationals and for me Pitts (pro am) maybe and Martin (pro am). The border issue notwithstanding that is all I can see being realistic to aim for. IHRA will be getting less of my money, not out of discontent but out of scheduling and geography. I still dont understand as all of the nationals were well attended. The lack of a replacement for Norwalk and its gate is just mind boggling |

It looks like IHRA has moved Div 3 to west of the Appalachian Mountains and Division 1 to the east.
I was at Thompson for a Jegs S/SS race. I thought the track was in good shape. It was at one of the NSCA races. They had "street" cars there running in the 7's at 180 mph. Just have to get on the brakes pretty hard after the finish line.

Pittsburgh needs to run 1/8th mile. Not much stopping room.

My only complaint is there are more than 8 divisional races that I want to attend and if I declare Div. 2, I would have #9 & #10 event at Darlington, which would be my #3 and #4 IN DIVISION. What to do? Should I let my husband and crew chief drive a couple or try to classify my car into Super Stock (if I could index)?

I finally get to race @ Div races that are actually Northeast. I am so glad Pitts is off Div 1 schedule...Great people but terrible racing/track layout (my experience only).

My open letter to IHRA. Thank you for creating such a poor racing schedule. Now myself and other div 3 NHRA/IHRA racers will not haft to renew our IHRA membership next year. I still cannot figure out why you want to race nationals events in texas when car counts are down in those areas. While nationals events in the north seem to do better. I'am not saying don't expand to those areas, just taking away evens in locations that are your strong points makes little sense to myself. I know milan is a **** whole I live 10 mile away and only race there two times a year. But I think Bill B made the right move three years ago. I can start to see the rats leave the sinking ship.

1/8 mile blows goats!
Midwest racers won't race that way and niether will most NHRA racers. If they like it so much down down south and in division 9 that great. Just keep it there! If T/S and T/D are too fast for the "questionable" tracks, them make them run 1/8 mile and leave the rest of the classes at 1/4 mile. The song Drag City by Jan and Dean does not start out "burn off that 1/8 mile" does it? Schedule is fine with us. Milan should not have left but it's gone so no sense in crying about it anymore. Fortunately there is still time to make some changes. I hope that somebody at IHRA is smart enough to do so, otherwise there will be a couple unhappy track operators after they wind up losing money from the poor turn outs.
