Amen! Mike sent me to pick up his water bottles one day at Columbus. I know their is a big diff between bottles and engines, but I received the same treatment. I was so mad I was seeing stars. The only thing NHRA is concerned about is the money they receive.

Hi Jack,

It looks like the "Kara" that you spoke to is an expert on sales, marketing and hospitality.

Looks like she is doing a fine job.

This is what I found on the Pomona website:

http://www.autoclubracewaypomona.com/sales.html

Maybe, if we all emailed Kara about this situation she would step in or put someone in charge to help out with Jacks situation. I know I did. Here's my email( I hope it is correct)

Kara, One of our devoted racers is having a issue at the Pamona race with parts from his car that appears was removed by the cleanup crew and NOBODY wants to help him get to the bottom of the issue and get his parts back. Is this really the way NHRA wants to be reconized as , when all he's been getting is the run around from everyone( track people, NHra people, etc...) Someone needs to step in and help a racer out, this is a very bad mark on NHRA.

Hi Jack,

The New NHRA guy in charge of security is Rob Johnson. (Ex LA cop) His father was a drag racer, Wes Johnson and ran in super street and super gas. A lot of the super gas / super street guys know him.
They did a story on Rob a few months back in the National Dragster.
Maybe he can help.

I don't blame him, probubly all he wants from Pamona is "GONE" and to get home from the "drag race from hell".

Jack man, I wish I could believe that crap doesn't happen at the race track anymore, b'cos it brought back memories of July 3, 1993, when during a near hurricane force windstorm at Denver's Bandimere Speedway, I drove away from my tool box (with at that time nearly $700 worth of tools inside), because the winds would've ripped my door off, if I wouldn't have, or I would've had shattered glass (which I did in the rear window anyway, by the gravel & rock pebbles that were prevalent throughout the northern half of the pit area--which since was paved all the way back to the final turn from the track), ...while fleeing for my safety. Once the winds died down I returned to my pit space to find not only my tool box gone, but my jack too! Fortunately I had insurance on the car (it was street-driven at the time), but that only replaced most of the tools. What really sucks about that is that it was another racer out there (most likely someone who only does time only/grudge type racing, and not a regular), because the following weekend it was announced at a Bandimere bracket race, and the tools were never recovered. If anyone ever wonders why I lock what I can of my things prior to a run, that's the reason why...

Like all others said, I hope that you keep after whoever that Kara person is, and the Div. 7/NHRA field office, and local law inforcement, because bagged parts have to be more noticeable than regular trash--they're heavier, and with sharper/harder edges???

Jack- REAL sorry you had a bad time here with your parts.I noticed trash personnel driving around with a little tow motor pulling a cart loaded with trash bags at 4 pm yesterday before second round, they were making a diligent effort to get the place picked up, and it's probable that your items were erroneously picked up. I've had many a good time at Pomona without any of that, real sorry it happened here. That misrepresents us all. Tony Janes was driving my red Chevelle, he did pretty well, and we're all wishing you the best in the off season. We enjoy reading your posts.Keep us informed as to what happens.
