I should have specified divisionals.I only question the validity of the science used to determine the
formula at these tracks. And that no H.P. penalties are assessed for 1.50 under. Not bashing ,just my opinion.

I agree...some of the CM cars have total control of their classes and move with ease between weight breaks with the same engine. The rules should be changed to only allow a maximum of removable ballast. Some of those cars will add or remove 400 lbs to change classes and still run the same engine.

Just curious Mr. Jones. Why you think Mr. Sharp needs to go back to comp. If a mans got the money to go fast more power to him. Just makes the little guys work harder in my opinion

The problem is the money buys parts that should not be allowed in the class which NHRA looks the other way, and not affordable by the majority of the racers.

since the question was asked of me i will express my complete opinion...

Sharp is fast ... very fast 9 months ago I posted when sharp smashed the index in CM and my main concern then was is this guy going to stay in the class ? I dont want to see superstock modified to be some sort of test lap for compguys who can and will deystroy the indexes then go back to comp . I wish NHRA would protect our classes from that kind of behavior . I am glad that Lee sharp has committed to SS/CM and seems he has done very well in the class , I hope that he and others will recognize that just because they are fortunate enought to have the means to BUY the best patterson motors and parts in existance they dont need to come out and prove anything by going half a second faster than the rest of the cars in the class . In Vegas last year we won class with a 9.00 against craig marshall who ran 9.001 . That is exciting racing and the type of racing that makes class fun in my opinion . Seeing a guy go 5 tenths faster than the rest is a complete *** kicking and does nothing but piss people off . As far as working harder that doesnt stand a chance against an unlimited check signer in modified ....

Great post. Like I said in prior postings, NHRA has to limit the type of parts allowed in the class. This is not the place to run parts like the Aurora short deck block and similar other components. It is not the class to do R&D for Comp racers. I would like to see class limited to standard deck OEM configuration Bowtie blocks, use of 18 and 23 degree heads, Buick Dart heads, Vortec-Bowtie and the Canted valve head for the "A" class only. The SB2, 12 and 15 degree heads do not belong in the class.

What would be next...someone showing up with a Chevy R0X race block?

They should also limit the amount of removable ballast.
