i agree with the fuel check how bogus can this fuel really be? even when vp is the official fuel of nhra. ive had all kinds of issues with vp c12. i like the fuel it works good but if it does not pass its no good to me . thats why i switched and have not had any problems since. and it is cheaper and runs the same.

We have had some very slight issues with C-12. Neither car has been tossed, but we have been told it read marginal. Normally, adding some fresh C-12 resolves the issue. Each time it has happened we've been told that it has gone somewhat "stale" from being exposed to the atmosphere (in a vented fuel cell between races mostly). We now usually drain both cells down to about what we need to load the cars and unload them later. Then we just add fresh C-12 before time trials. I guess C-12 is somewhat sensitive. But I like the results I get with it, so long as I don't have worse issues, or need more octane, we'll stick with it.

We've had several "situations" where our fuel didn't check. We run C-12. In each deal, I questioned the validity of the "checking" process. In one incident, 2 cars, same fuel, same jug, one is good, one wasn't. In the one that didn't check, after a confrontation, we took the jug for checking. We were told that the fuel in the jug was OK. We were told to drain the fuel in the car, "flush" the system, then refuel the car with the fuel out of the jug. We proceeded to do nothing. In fact I sat at the trailer and had a "cold one". About an hour later, we took the car back to fuel check, and it passed with flying colors!! On other "failures" I've been given all kinds of scenarios. Fuel is old, fuel left in jugs, fuel left in trailer, fuel left in car, etc,!!!! This year I asked the tech guys to check some fuel that had been IN THE FUEL CELL of one car that hadn't been run for 14 months. It checked good!!! So much for theories!!

With regard to the people who have already replied to this thread: What engines do you guys run? I know the C-11 is better than C-12 for our small block (more power on dyno), and it burns cleaner. Never have had a problem with C-11, and we start the year with what's left in the trailer. It usually sits awhile and goes through the winter outside.
