Part of the idea behind having 2 more lanes was in case of a major oil down they could move over and keep running while the cleanup was done on the other two. This was to help get an actual "LIVE" TV drag race too.

Im heading to the track here in a few minutes.

Great PICS Tom. Is anyone suprised that the car count was not higher? I figured there would be a full field in that part of the country.

Tom,
Great pictures as usual. Good luck with the race and enjoy yourself this weekend. With the price of gasoline skyrocketing this morning, it may be the last one anyone can afford to go to.

Chris, I'm with you on the car count. I don't care how bad the economy is I figured it would be full. I was also suprised at the S/G & S/C car counts.
P.S. It was nice to meet you at K.V. on Labor Day weekend. Hope you faired better than Greg and I did.

Thanks for the pics! That is one KILLER looking '56. Still have a soft spot for those.
Is it the 225 hp 2X4 carbs, 205 or 210 hp (both single 4)?

I believe Indy wears a lot of racers down plus must rule out Div 4 racers because of the divisional race.
