What's the latest local forecast for that area?
Any of the Jersey boys want to chime in? The race could concieveably be finished on Sunday if there is no delay in getting started and no down time but that is just impossible to predict.

The biggest problem will be that the Alcohol cars can only run on Saturday so since they won't have any qualifiying runs that will take a lot of time to get them qualified on Sunday. Plus I am sure that if we get 2 to 3" of rain like is predicted they will probably have problems with the track surface. I think I might just save some money and stay home. Just my thought.

Brian or whoever knows englishtown, what is the history there with the water coming up thru the track ? Is this a constant problem with that facility ? Many tracks have that problem, I guess the good thing is that the northeast has been dry for the last 2-3 weeks, at least in my area, so the ground should not be saturated.
The latest storm track I looked at showed a timetable that it may be mid-late morning sat before it rains. I want to go to englishtown, but epping is a possibility. It looks like rain poss. on sunday there. Dave

Englishtown has a french drain from the starting line to finish line. There are never any water issues.

Here's an update on Englishtown. Got this off the Div 1 website this afternoon.
The Raceway Park Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Event is still on for this weekend. Tech Inspection will be conducted Friday and Saturday rain or shine. If it is raining on Saturday, we will keep Tech Inspection open until 3 p.m. or until the track is dry whichever comes first. THERE WILL BE NO TECH INSPECTION ON SUNDAY. IF SATURDAY GETS RAINED OUT, THERE WILL BE NO TIME TRIALS FOR SUPER STREET, STOCK, SUPER COMP, SUPER STOCK, AND SUPER GAS. COMP ELIMINATOR AND TOP ALCOHOL FUNNY CAR AND DRAGSTER MAY HAVE FIELDS SET ON ONE QUALIFYING PASS. |

I think I'm going to take a chance. The last time I stayed home, the rain missed the track.
The weather people in Baltimore couldn't predict night fall.LOL |
