Default What a shame.....

Bo gets bounced in a awesome car because the crankshaft didnt LOOK right.. But Defrank has an illegal carb that has the 4-corner idle circuit and gets to race, and told just have it fixed by the next race. Must be that west coast rule book in action again. Hey Bo, i guess Defrank can get away with it since he lives about a mile or two from the "head of tech", so he probly cuts his grass for him. Two years ago Travis Miller wouldnt tech Billy's car in because it had 4-corner idle and didnt come that way from the factory. Well, the camaros didnt either but the west coast rule book wins again.

Duane, not defending anyone, however, they are not the only ones running 4-corner idle...I have seen many other cars running them too. As a matter of fact, I called NHRA Tech and posed the question; the person that answered could not give me a straight response on the subject.

The point is two years ago NHRA got all over everyone about it, TWO years ago. Thats more then enough time to fix the carb on that car. Hell, did they even race it back then? If they didnt that means it was built wrong in the first place. They just want to try and pick on people. Maybe NHRA's problem is the name on Bo's and Monty's cars. If so then they need to speak up and say it. This is america, if i want to sit outside the gate at VMP or even go in the gate at VMP and say F#*k NHRA. They cant throw me out. Maybe ill renew my number, run VMP in super stock and have that decal made and stick it in the back window of the car, and see what they say about that. I guess if you have an LS1 in NHRA, you better not race. That GM casting number on the crank must be wrong and if they see it they'll take it.

Duane...regarding the Holley carburetor...Holley's ad in their website is very misleading. They show a legal replacement carburetor for Stock and Super Stock, however, they show a carburetor with four corner idle.

http://www.holley.com/types/Competition.asp

Then look at the specific carburetor, with the choke plate, however, you cannot see if it has the idle screws in the rear. Interestting is the carburetor does not have the choke linkage, but if you look at the tower, there is a drilled hole to lock the choke plate in the open position.

Open up this page:

http://www.holley.com/0-4609-1.asp

This is the specific carburetor...NHRA approved for Stock and Super Stock...

SSDiv6: The Holley carb you are referring to is a 735 CFM for Ford applications, so I'm not sure how that relates to DeFrank's situation. Even so, where does it say that carb has 4 corner idle? If you open the technical information link on the page you posted there is a side view picture of the carb and it does not have idle adjustment screws in the secondary metering block. How is the ad misleading?
