Just spoke with Mom and Dad, and we lost first round of class as we were too light at the scales by 10 pounds.
I believe DRC is misinformed about us being disqualified for the event. We were just light for 1st round of class, though we won't make the field unless 30+ cars are bounced in tech after class. |

No problem Dan.
I know all of us GREATLY appreciate the time and effort you and DRC put forth to give us the qualifying and class results round by round. BTW, the pink car Dad is driving used to be yellow and black. It just took almost 6 years to get it painted and reassembled. |

Ryan,
About that pink firebird, I don't think it will happen. Unless, science proves that pink is the fastest color. Then, maybe.

Tom,
Dad is running the 71 'cuda that we've been running for over 25 years. It has the 440 six pac and is running A/SA with it. Per DRC, he went a 10.29 first round of class 10 pounds light on the second run on the car since it was painted and reassembled. It is now painted panther pink with an "AAR" stripe on the car. |

First of all, thanks to Chris for giving you updates for us. So here is the lowdown. We finally got loaded up around 6 last night and headed to St. Louis to test since we wanted a run on the new car before Indy. Got there 10 minutes after tech closed and they wouldn't let us run although we were there for about 45 minutes and they were still running cars down the track when we left. So we drive on to Indy and get here about 3 am. Slept til 6:15, then got ready to get parked. We were at the main entrance with the pros, so we got out of line and drove in Gate 8, got parked, unloaded, and teched and ran 1st round this morning. For the 1st pass on the car in 6 years, it ran pretty well -.72, but not good enough to get in the show. So he gets everything ready to run class within the hour. He was 65 pounds on that run so he took weight out to ( he thought) 10 pounds over minimum. But being tired and rushed, he made a mistake and took out too much. So our 1st round class win was DQ'd. So now only 30 cars have to be thrown out for us to get in the show.
Interesting thing seen in the pits before class: a California car putting dry ice on the manifold. ????? Haven't talked to anyone much yet, We have been pretty busy. Did go by and talk to Rick and Roz Gresens about our steak dinner. Rick and Larry had a bet for the last 4 years or so as to who would get their car back up and running sooner. And we won. Rick's C/S Mustang still isn't out. My connection keeps going away, so more later. Patsy |
