Re: today is September 11
Two months ago, we decided for a family vacation to go to New York City. It's quite a place! One of the things we did one day was to get up, go to breakfast, amd walk on down to catch an excursion to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It's a rather majestic sight to look across the harbor and see that familiar big green copper sculpture of Liberty herself. One thing we did on the way over there, the street we walked down on took us right to the Twin Towers sight and the two big square monuments complete with hundreds of names, and the two square waterfalls and all. Suddenly, I realized that I was there. Names of the deceased were inscribed on the monuments, it is a real serious sobering emotional moment to see and realize what happened there. I won't forget how I felt when I saw it and the stark realization of what that meant set in. It made it a lot more real to see it up close. It also made me realize how vital and real freedom is. Thank you all who served our country well as you did to protect our existing freedom and American culture and for defending us like you veterans always have. That's absolutely priceless.
