Ken, he posted his harrowing challenge to get to Indy in time and I'm glad to see him in Virginia!
Ty Frank (for your concern when I had the truck trouble...after it hit the lift it was a complete wheel bearing failure front right, and took a total rebuild spindle and knuckle and rotor, I actually made it to Indy a day and a half late, was stacked w/ 2 other Stockers outside the gate at 8:00 AM when they called Sockers to the lanes (thrashing to get ready to just change the 2 front wheels/tires after unloading...but made Q1 (-.690 under 121 Q position and knew it would not last through the much warmer Q2 session and the Q3 at 8:00 AM (C1), was going to at 51 degrees of temp was my last and best shot at making the field...as we reached the ready line, he started pulling us out behind the 2 cars staging....and I saw raindrops on the windshield and his stop signal and then red lights flashing on the tree, and they backed all 4 of us off...wiped the car down 3 times in 10 mins or more...then the sky started crying big drops and > knew the perfect weather I needed would never return.

Still had a good time at Indy...Both EF/S cars faced off later, and we both missed the BIG GO, BIG SHOW later...But my Nat. Record is still up, and I WILL RETURN TO INDY faster next year. I met a lot of the fastest slow car builders around....Billy, Brent, Ron, Claude and others.. great people!

I met Ken yesterday finally, Jim Marshall this morning (Met Pi and his Fast Copo with his .026 vs my uncharacteristically very late for me .045 at VMP yesterday too just before the skies opened up and it poured down rain again....he took me down by just about what I gave him at the tree...it was a good race he good by.008, me good by .005 and side by side, him a slight bit in front. My failure was not grabbing the coffee or soda and late afternoon racing.

Win or lose, I am travelling, and having the time of my life! This current trip is over 8K miles, and 50 days...only 1 (maybe an early Thanksgiving dinner w/familly as racing in Vegas again that week), weekend off between time I left home, to Dec 1, 2025...and coast-to-coast. class racing and brackets combined.

And I have the best and most supportive wife in the world...I love you Celeste!

Like Jim Marshall said this morning...We aren't getting any younger Gary..though it makes me feel younger to stay this busy having fun!

Yes Sir I am! Oh, and the car...did I say -.690 Q1 at Indy at 51 degrees and -.690 Q1 at VMP in warmer temps. (That is consistency. It just takes driving it around in the pits a little to allow it to learn where it is and what it needs to do). Getting some errands done, fuel up truck, race gas, shower...waiting for humid conditions to ease up a lil' today has not worked...dinner and prep for race #2 in the AM. Next week Darlington, SC (Single Div. 2 LODRS/National Open.)

(Not really my brother, but I will apologize in person later!)
Sry to junk up your thread Ken!

Cool to see Gary Lucier out there repping D7. I hope he doesn?t encounter any issues traveling back home.
Ty Justin...After South Carolina next weekend, a stop for a double in Tulsa, OK where my wife is flying in for the weekend (if and only if she gets caught up with work as she teaches High School Science daily, and pulling triple class duties teaching this Semester at our local Community College, and took off time over labor day to go out with our Church group for the annual family camp trip to an area near Flagstaff/Coconino Forest and said she was a bit behind on prep (she has an Aunt in Tulsa sh hasn't seen in a while, and by then a husband in the same place too! Then straight to Bakersfield, CA. And I just hope O'Conner still shows up with his fixed EF/S entry! I will be there. Truck is pulling the rig fine now when on the road. Those boys (men), were all over those repairs once the parts arrived in that small but great town.

These trips are like the old days in the 80's when I went to Florida for a month of racing each winter! And while our boys and my wife were all earning multiple degrees for well over 2.5 decades I sat out...I longed to get back to camping out at the track and traveling/racing again. Lots of seat time.

A little racing in the dark would be great though for this night owl though stuck in a day racer's life....I come alive after dark. (Maybe somewhere between this coast and the other I may find a bracket race on a week night along the way...so, if you know of a place between VA and SC, or SC and OK, or nope...OK to CA is a straight drive through to make that Home Div. Race(s). Then on to Div. 7 Bracket finals in Phx. (Maybe even 1 night in my own bed...then Dallas....and more.

Don't know if it is just me, but I don't see the dial-ins on live timing or the tv feed screen, anyone else see that ?

1 more thing I need to add about VMP...has anyone noticed the reflection of the cones waaaay down the track that appear to be at the finish line (at least until you approach it), it was messing with my brain a bit in bright sunshine.

I will ask Ken to resize the 2 pic's I have or breakout the laptop and do it myself to post them.it was just a weird observation that I have never seen before at any track. (Too big to post currently).
