Most competitive teams now use a chiller and ice
directly behind the staging lanes on a Heads Up
race before entering the staging lanes.

This post was specifically about TOWING a car up which is clearly prohibited in the rules?.not pushing not use of ice and chillers behind the lanes. I?m new to stock but I?m very aware of what can be done and what cannot.

It would really depend on how close the race is going to be. If its a close race then I would do something about it. If its a 5 or 6 tenths difference i would not worry about it because I have no chance to win the round anyway. I would have a talk with the other driver and give him my thoughts. I would for sure burn him down in the burn out and staging.

Years ago, a similar thing happened to me. I was .001 and lost .01 to a car that was pushed through the water box. At the time I didn't want to rock the boat. Today I would go straight to tech at the end of the run and get weighed.

Are you not allowed to push it through the lanes and up to the ready line? Or do you have to have it fired by the time you get there? I don't know the rule on that.
