Ya know, I'm honestly at a point where I believe that the NHRA is just milking this whole thing for what they can get out of it without getting into too many lawsuits for as long as they can.
As I've said before and I'm sure that you're sick of hearing, I am not going to spend the kind of money that is expected from us to be competitive only to be "tossed" on an arbitrary, gray-area ruling or a personal vendetta. There are plenty of very competitive lower-class combos which can be built for not a lot of money to go to any NHRA race but Indy. I'm probably not the guy to be telling anybody to NOT go to Indy as I love the race and the times that I've been there I've done OK. I'll be there spectating this year. So I guess that the bottom line is, if you really want to go and participate then get off of your wallet and go! One way or another it's gonna cost you. AHFS or not.

Buying a brand new pr of FWD slicks and bogart wheels 2 weeks ago from a great fellow class racer up here in Oregon who has the car in the garage ready to go racing, his pocket still full enough to give me a good deal, wants instead to race with them on his car instead of mine...but cannot be licensed currently by NHRA as he is currently on blood thinners, makes me greatful beyond mention to still be healthy enough to even play the game. And that he thought enough of me to consider how they can help me, even while he is sidelined. Lots of people will always have more toys to play with. The Good Lord has blessed us all...let's go racin'! And I pray he can get back in the game soon! Darin...Mr. Poole go get em and make em fast.

How many folks here have tried to get a new car combo in the NHRA books lately? The 50-60 yr old cars fill the classifications.Old news! Very well know! New cars and getting factory engine specs is a tough road. Someone try an 8 speed auto with what is available between the rear tires and a V6 if you can get specs>

How about two Stock Eliminator classes for each current class.
One class is called Top Stock . You choose to run your car in Top/Stock or Regular Stock class. Class Same rules, weight breaks ladders etc. Only difference is Top Stock cars indexes are 1.0 LOWER. Fast guys can keep it Matted. Top Stock races a Regular Stock same class , it's a dial a number race. Top Stock car races a same class Top Stock car, first car to the stripe wins. Just an Idea..
