Got my parts a day early only to have the ID of the reducer bushing too small and to large on the OD. CNC stuff you have to love it. I wonder what the sampling rate was and what the tolerances limits were. So tomorrow back to making stuff with a wall thickness is about .031.

Finally got the shims, sleeves, and adjustments made to the bracket to get the alternator pulley to look at the crank shaft pulley. Checked out a few more new parts for fit and ease of assembly. I still have to Install new plugs and tighten valve covers then Install in car. I?m looking forward for the o2 information but not the wiring challenge to keep the wires from getting burnt.
We are more than ready to get to the track. |

End of July. I think it will take a little bit just to understand the data that we can now gather. The big IF is can we turn the information into lower et and better closing rate.

Meanwhile back at the ranch Dumbo is being ignored on a very regular schedule. That should change, I hope.

Most of the disasters have been put down but are still smoldering. Yesterday we got some stuff done. I still have to counterbore the pully to make room for the lock washer on the alternator.

Engine and transmission should be in today. Seems most of the month has been semiannual check ups at the doctors office and tending to a 100 year old house. But today is the day.

A slight bump in the road. I am having to set up and machine converter to get proper pull up clearance. And so it goes!
That is a lot of work for .035 more clearance. My guess is having to make a fixture to hold snout and pilot on same centerline while cut is made 90* to centerline. Last edited by Larry Hill; 07-18-2025 at 08:18 AM. |

And then we have to shorten the nose of the converter to reach the flex plate.
Not sure when we will be out racing with the AHFS in play at Indy |
