Sometimes I pat myself on the back to soon. The newly fab bracket got installed, checked for clearance and service access, installed and adjusted sensor only to realize I forgot to paint it. Today I will fix that.

Just a week of disappointment nothing went according to plan. All the parts orders arrived as promised, that's good. Everything is on hold until we get some things ironed out. Everyone is healthy. Later.

I was Abel to get back in the saddle yesterday afternoon and it felt great, just me and my little piece of aluminum. I am still trying to get the new alternator mount and line up with the new pulley. We are installing a larger pulley to keep alternator RPM within recommended guidelines. I never had that problem with the pink Cuda. Changing from a Bosch to a Power Master Denso style alternator should be easier than it has become. Two different shaft sizes.
Racing Rule # 1 It is a Chevy world! Pulled the valve covers, looked at the plugs. Plugs looked great. Checked the lash and the worst one was out .002. Most but not all had the same feel on the feeler gage. Brad Rounds at T and D make some really good rocker arms they adjust easily and stay put. Back to work. |

Got my parts a day early only to have the ID of the reducer bushing too small and to large on the OD. CNC stuff you have to love it. I wonder what the sampling rate was and what the tolerances limits were. So tomorrow back to making stuff with a wall thickness is about .031.

Finally got the shims, sleeves, and adjustments made to the bracket to get the alternator pulley to look at the crank shaft pulley. Checked out a few more new parts for fit and ease of assembly. I still have to Install new plugs and tighten valve covers then Install in car. I?m looking forward for the o2 information but not the wiring challenge to keep the wires from getting burnt.
We are more than ready to get to the track. |

End of July. I think it will take a little bit just to understand the data that we can now gather. The big IF is can we turn the information into lower et and better closing rate.
