Wind is usually the #1 disruptor in the predictions, and you can't just trust what your computer says it is worth in ET but I want data from on-site and referenced to the track orientation.

I dont have a data logger but would like to get one eventually. The RPM system seems like a good value.
I do have a weather station. I have the Perform aire PC system a have Crew Chief Pro software running it. CCP is incredibly accurate and is fairly easy to use. I use the text feature to have the weather info sent to my phone. No pager needed but you do need cellular internet for it to work. Get with Don Higgins at the track and he can get you all set up.
