I wonder how much $$$ Toyota had to slide across the table at the NHRA office, to get this car, which is looking more like a Factory GT/"Paper Tiger" car, into the NHRA Classification Guide?
I don't see where the 6 cyl. Toyo block has the traditional GM RWD bell housing pattern. So how much did the adapter...I mean safety shield cost and who paid for it? Is it commonly available now?

(Question for Bobby to ask)

Just remember that these cars are SMALL about the size of a Chevy Vega or Ford Pinto maybe a 67 Camaro in Height, Width, Length 102+ inch wheelbase & factory weight of about 3300 pounds , that's for a production car not a stripped down for racing car-- they are factory rated at 368 HP or about 8.7 to 9.2 pounds per HP--- looks like they would fit in B/C/D or FS/F, G,H with out any refactoring or fudging on the numbers---look online in April 2024 a Supra was running at No Problem and ran 12.15 at 116 MPH ---didnt look like he was really working it hard!!!--- Am I WRONG??? Mark,

The Toyota Supra is based on the BMW Z4 platform.

It is basically, a BMW Z4 with the Toyota Supra sheet metal.
The engine is the inline BMW 3.0 6-cylinder B58 platform.

The chassis and driveline is BMW, and the transmission is a General Motors 5L50, also used in the late model Cadillacs.

It should be called the Z4-Yota...

Joe ,this is beginning to sound like a Shifty Schiff hearing. Am I going to have to call my lawyer in on this one?
This doesn't look like a THM 400 bolt pattern to me >

Hence my original question..
I see so much smoke , I can't even see the mirrors LOL

Why don't you tune in on Tuesday and pitch that question? I would personally rather help Bobby get some ratings than beat it to death on here.

And the answer to your production numbers is between 2,500 and 7,500 (approx.) each year since 2020.

Good idea. I thought about that but I'm in a shaky internet area right now.
I wanted to throw a few out in advance, here. Someone else might have to pick up on them next week.

Meanwhile, I'd love to see one of your GTOs as a Stocker..You know...see how good you really are LOL
