Something seperate from the car itself:
Is this the same situation Chevy, Ford, and Dodge are in this decade+? With only a single High Performance model or a Factory Package in the Classification Guide? With no "normal" cars from those Makes? |

why would you even want a 9 inch ? aside from some gear ratio options and ease to swap center section there is no performance advantage other then maybe the gear option ratios offered but I doubt much if any . Further more from what I understand the 12 bolt has less reciprocating weight( I don't know that for a fact ) but I did read somewhere some of the fast Hemi Cars has 12 bolts in them if I recall I could be wrong .

There was actually a discussion about using a Toyota rear. The "no truck rears" got us there. I personally feel that would have been much cooler. But, the rules say a 9 inch is OK.

The common man/fan can afford a older V8 4 runner or GX, they can and should be hotrodded with tunes, and headers. A full time 4 wheel drive 4 runner is how my children first drove on the track. Still own my 08 V8 that got me started in this poor lifestyle choice! Does this mean that Toyota will be paying sportsman contingency for Toyota car and truck owners for wins and class? Lets face it Toyota has more $ than the other makers combined, and it would be nice to see a resurgence of $ towards the sportsman.

Oh no I get it for sure I have no issue with it . I was responding to someone else that was asking about putting a 9 inch in other GM cars but I think he deleted the response. Any idea when you will test it or has it been tested ?

12 bolt is probably faster anyway... But why not? If the others don't have to play by the same rules... |

Frank, in the early 80s GM offered a "Service Package" bolt-in rear (over-the-counter or warranty) for Camaros and Firebirds with the 305 HO and stick. The 7.5s just wouldn't stay together. This wasn't the "Australian rear" but a genuine bolt-in Dana 44! I've owned a few of them over the years.
